Switching to the new pricing model

This guide is for existing customers who would like to switch to the new pricing model, which you can do in a few steps. For a smooth transition and to optimize your usage in advance, this guide includes recommended tasks you can perform before making the switch.

If your team is still using the legacy Image Optimization pricing, enabling the new pricing model before switching will typically lower your overall usage.

1. Navigate to your Pro plan Team Settings tab. Select Billing and go down to Image Optimization.
2. If its not already activated, click on Review Cost Estimate to review.
3. Click Accept to enable the new pricing model.

Fluid compute with active CPU pricing optimizes Vercel Function costs. It is enabled by default for all recent projects. You can ensure it is enabled for other projects by following the steps below:

1. Navigate to the Settings tab of your project.
2. Select Functions from the left sidebar.
3. Ensure that the toggle in the Fluid compute is not disabled.
4. Enable it if it is disabled.

Viewer seats are unlimited and free on the new pricing model. To maximize savings, review your team and switch non-deploying team members to the Viewer role after switching.

1. Navigate to your Pro plan Team Settings tab and select Members.
2. Create a list of team members who don't need to deploy code (e.g., content editors, designers, project managers).
3. Review their current permissions and access needs.
4. Plan to convert this list to Viewer seats immediately after switching.

If you are an existing customer, you can choose to switch to the new pricing model now or continue using the legacy Pro plan until you are transitioned automatically.

You can switch by doing one of the following:

• Clicking the Pro badge button to the right of your team name in the dashboard if this team is on the Pro plan.
• Clicking Review and Switch by following this link and choosing an existing Pro team.
• Following these steps:
  1. Navigate to your dashboard and select your team from the scope selector
  2. Select the Settings tab and select Billing.
  3. From the Pro Plan section, click Review & Switch.
  4. Review the summary of the total charges and available credits and click Switch to proceed.
  5. Once the transition is complete, your Pro Plan in Billing will be updated to the new pricing model.
